Pack Like Professional & Keep Your Postal Mail Safe While You Are Away

Postal Mail Safety While Traveling

You’ve been planning a trip for months maybe longer and its almost here just a week or so away.  Now its time to start thinking about what you are going to pack, how you are going to pack it, what you are going to take with you and maybe what you can leave behind.

You also need to think about what you are going to do with your postal mail while you are away.

Getting ready for a trip can be stressful whether it is for business or long-awaited vacation.  Read on for some tips to pack like a pro and how to keep your mail safe while you are away.

How do you pack like a professional

Start with making a list of every single item you plan to take on your trip. This list will help you make sure you don’t forget anything while packing as well as help you at the end of your trip when you are repacking your stuff for the trip home.

Items often forgotten include deodorant, toothbrushes, socks, and sunscreen.

When it comes to packing space limited so always consider the weather.  Also, pack smart, do you really need 5 pair of shoes?  Can you possibly have your clothes cleaned at the hotel?  Remember most airlines charge fees if your bags weigh too much.

Put your toiletries in zipper storage bags that way if they open on the trip they won’t spill on your clothes possibly staining them.  Also, since space in luggage is at a premium consider buying your shampoo and such once you get to your destination.

For stand up rolling luggage place the heaviest items at the bottom this will prevent twisting and flipping.

Roll clothing to prevent wrinkles and save space.

Now what to do with your postal mail?

You could have a neighbor, friend or family member come by and collect it for you and bring it into your house or keep it with them until you get back.

Another option is contacting the post office and see if they offer Hold Mail Service in your area. Hold Mail Service is an option where they will not deliver your mail for a specified period of time.

Another great option would be to set up a virtual mailbox. With a virtual postal mailbox, you will be able to go online and see what mail you have received and if there is anything that you need right away you can have it send to you wherever you are.

You should be ready to pack and enjoy your trip.  Happy travels!
