Start your Black Friday shopping list with Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco, eBay, and Nordstrom. Compare Amazon and Walmart for purchases across categories, Best Buy for electronics, Target for toys and home goods, Costco for member pricing, eBay for refurbished products, and Nordstrom for clothing and shoes.
The best retailer for your order depends on the exact item, seller, checkout total, delivery route, and return terms. A discount can lose its value when you add a membership, forwarding costs, or a return you must ship overseas.
Black Friday falls on Friday, November 27, 2026. Cyber Monday follows on November 30.
This guide compares shopping options and policies checked October 25, 2026. Check each retailer’s announcement for sale start times, member access, and item prices before buying.
Compare online retailers for Black Friday

Amazon and Walmart for comparing a mixed shopping list
Start with Amazon and Walmart when you need several product categories. Compare each item separately rather than assuming one cart gives you the lowest total.
On marketplace listings, record the seller and fulfillment details. Two offers for the same product may have different shipping charges and return arrangements. Check the offer you select, including any membership condition, before paying.
If you plan to pick up an order locally, confirm eligibility for that item and wait for the pickup-ready message before going to the store.
Best Buy for comparing electronics specifications
Use Best Buy to compare TVs, laptops, audio equipment, gaming products, and appliances. Match model numbers and configurations across stores. For a laptop, that includes memory, storage, processor, and condition. For a TV, compare the model number and screen size.
Treat price matching as a policy to check before purchase. Best Buy’s published terms exclude competitor offers marked as Black Friday pricing and competitor items on sale from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after Thanksgiving. Other exclusions apply. Read the Best Buy price-match policy rather than relying on a general price-match badge.
If you plan to forward your purchase, check the destination first. Best Buy’s international-order guidance states that it does not ship to known freight forwarders.
Target and Nordstrom for home goods and clothing
Compare Target for toys, home goods, apparel, and beauty items. Review whether an offer requires Target Circle identification or has a gift-card or bundle condition.
Target’s published price-match policy covers qualifying Target prices, including eligible Target Circle deals, and generally allows requests at purchase or within 14 days. It does not promise to match every competitor. Check Target’s price-match terms for exclusions and current conditions.
Use Nordstrom to compare clothing, shoes, accessories, and beauty gifts. Confirm the seller and item’s return terms. Nordstrom handles returns on a case-by-case basis, and its Marketplace purchases have separate policies. Check sizing and any final-sale restrictions before ordering something you may need to return.
Costco: when membership and delivery costs fit your purchase
Compare Costco’s checkout total with the same model elsewhere. Include membership costs if you would join for the purchase. Costco publishes a 5% surcharge for nonmembers on eligible online purchases, except prescription drugs; some products require membership.
For an appliance or other large item, check what delivery includes. Installation, haul-away, access requirements, and destination eligibility can affect the comparison. Arrange large-item delivery directly with a suitable recipient rather than assuming a mailbox location can accept it.
eBay when product condition and seller terms matter
Compare eBay listings when you are open to refurbished products or want to check a seller’s offer against a new item elsewhere. Read the condition description, included accessories, seller history, and warranty details.
Look for the actual eBay Refurbished program designation when relying on its warranty. A seller describing an item as refurbished does not by itself establish that it belongs to that program.
Before using a forwarder, review the eBay Money Back Guarantee policy. It excludes certain item-not-received and not-as-described claims when the buyer uses third-party freight forwarding or mail redirection. eBay treats shipping program forwarding differently under that policy.
Check a Black Friday offer before you buy
Build a comparison around the product you need and the amount you will pay.
- Record the item. Save its model number, size, configuration, condition, and included accessories.
- Compare prices before the sale. Record the current selling price at two or three stores, so you have a reference beyond the advertised markdown.
- Check the seller. Confirm who sells the item and handles returns, especially on marketplace listings.
- Calculate the checkout total. Include shipping, taxes, required membership, and delivery or installation charges. Treat future store credit separately from money saved today.
- Read the return terms. Record the deadline, item exclusions, who pays for return shipping, and any restocking fee.
- Save the order record. Keep the receipt, product listing, promotion terms, and tracking details together.
For a limited-time offer, decide your target price beforehand. That gives you a reason to buy or pass without relying on a countdown timer.
Plan delivery before using a package forwarding address
A forwarding address adds another stage between the retailer and your destination. Confirm that the retailer accepts the address and that the selected facility accepts the item before placing the order.
PostScan Mail’s package forwarding service offers online package management and forwarding. After a location receives and processes a package, you may see an exterior image in your account. The retailer’s delivery scan and the mailbox’s processing record are separate events.
For holiday purchases, check these details with the receiving location.
- Account activation and verification. Complete identity verification and any required USPS Form 1583 before ordering. Review the Form 1583 requirements for your mailbox.
- Item acceptance. Confirm size, weight, contents, carrier, and signature requirements. Ask about restricted items before purchasing electronics with batteries, liquids, or other goods that may need special handling.
- Processing and pickup hours. Check holiday closures, forwarding cutoffs, and local pickup arrangements.
- Storage and consolidation. Confirm the free storage period, later charges, available packaging options, and whether waiting for another order makes sense.
- Forwarding and returns. Obtain an estimate for the destination, and confirm how you would return an unsuitable item before sending it onward.
A U.S. street address does not override a retailer’s order rules, payment checks, export restrictions, or buyer-protection exclusions. For an overseas destination, include customs charges and destination requirements in your plan.
Compare the full delivered cost
A lower product price can produce a higher total after forwarding.
The example below uses hypothetical amounts. It is not a PostScan Mail quote or a retailer offer.
| Cost | Order sent through a forwarder | Order delivered directly |
|---|---|---|
| Product price | $180 | $205 |
| Original shipping | $0 | $0 |
| Forwarding and handling | $32 | $0 |
| Total before applicable taxes and other charges | $212 | $205 |
Here, forwarding makes the $180 item cost $7 more before any taxes, storage, or customs charges. Use the PostScan Mail shipping calculator for an estimate, then check what the amount includes and confirm the final shipment cost. The calculator does not book a shipment.
Consolidation may reduce costs for some orders. Compare the packed shipment with separate shipments, including handling, storage, and carrier charges. Keep packaging and accessories you may need for a return.
Choose your retailer and delivery plan together
Start with stores that carry the product you need. Compare the same item, check the seller and return terms, and choose a delivery route you can manage.
If you will be away or need onward shipping, review PostScan Mail’s package forwarding options before placing your Black Friday orders. Confirm the location’s acceptance rules and fees so the delivery plan supports the purchase.
